Double Detail Dies and Stencils from Tonic Studios

Hello Crafters

I just want to share a card I made using the newly released Double Detail Dies and Stencils from Tonic Studios.  As many of you know these were a Pick Of The Day on Create and Craft last week so a lot of you will be getting these delivered soon, if not already.

Along with the Aztec Alium Double Detail Die Set I used the sentiment from the If Friends Were Flowers Sentiment Frame Die Set and the Keepsake Royal Frame.  I simply cut the die twice into the pink backing card and inked through the stencil with Walnut Stain Distress Ink using a latex sponge.  I backed this with a piece of cream card for stability.  I added the frame on foam pads, shadowed the wording and die cut some extra flowers from the border die.  I finished the card off with a pretty bow and added lots of Bright Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Happy Crafting

Tonic Studios Simply Screens Pick Of The Week

Morning All

I hope the weather is holding out for you all as it's beautiful here in sunny South Wales :).  Today I'd like to show you a few of the cards I made using the Simply Screens dies from Tonic Studios in preparation for the Pick of The Week shows on Create and Craft this week.  These dies are so versatile because they can be repeatedly cut over and over to give you perfect backgrounds along with single strip cuts.  Here's what I came up with.

Here I used the Clematis Vine set both as a background and as a strip and cut the flowers out of the second die.  I also used the Art Deco Ovals and the Retro Happy Birthday dies along with The Essentials card packs which is the most fabulous card for die cutting and with contrasting colours that go together like a dream.

A Wedding/Anniversary/Engagement card next using the same dies, the Clematis Vine set as doors on the front of a tent fold A5 card along with the Love sentiment from the Believe/Love Frames and the Silhouette dies.

Completely different this time, using the Honeycomb set which was cut into the black layer of my card mat with some of the black waste placed back in to make a kind of football pattern to match the beautiful topper.  It only needed some wording so one of the family sentiments worked really well in this case.

I hope you'll join Jodie for the launch show at 11am instead of midday as originally scheduled and throughout the coming week xx

Chalkboard Die and Stamp Sets

Good morning crafters :)

It's been a tad busy here again so I have let my blogging slip again but here's a couple of cards I made from the recent Tonic Studios Weekender that's been on Create and Craft.  Hopefully, these dies and stamps will start to fall through your letterboxes sometime soon :)

I used the Birthday Wishes Frame but the sentiment is from the Its Your Big Day Set.
Also punched the borders using the Simplicity Gothic Border Punch.

Again I used the Birthday Wishes Frame but this time I've used the stamps out of the It's Your Big Day set along with the floral corner die from the Essentials die set which I've elongated and added some of the Entwined Trellis Plush Peony flowers.

Finally I've used the It's Your Big Day Frame with the Birthday Wishes sentiment,  embossed the background with one of the Idyllics folders, added a small punched butterfly and some punched borders using the Simplicity Victorian Punch.

Enjoy your new Tonic Studios products

Patchwork Perfections - Cards Already Demonstrated by Jodie

Hello all, I thought I'd show you some of my cards that have already been demonstrated live on air by Jodie.  That way if you are looking for a little more detail on any of the designs simply pop over to the Create and Craft website and select one of the Pick Of The Week shows to see them being made.

Made using the Everyday Squares Die Set
Square Stitch Die And Emboss Set and the Quilted Quarters.

Again using Everyday Squares, Quilted Quarters and Stitch Die And Emboss Set.  Finished this one off with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Silver Lining.

I used the Quilted Quarters, Everyday Squares and Stitch Die And Emboss Set.  Also added some white Nuvo Crystal Drops

For this one I used the Vineyard Set along with the Everyday Set and the Stitch Die And Emboss Set.  Coloured the detail with the Nuvo Alcohol Marker Pens and added some little black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like them and that you will continue to watch out for more demonstrations with Jodie throughout the coming week on Create and Craft.

Patchwork Perfecton Pick Of The Week

Good Morning, I'd like to share with you a few of the cards I made for the Tonic Studios Patchwork Perfection die range that will be featured as Pick Of The Week on Create and Craft from Midday today.
Traditionally made this into a sewing themed card due to the little embellishment dies in the Square Stitch Die and Emboss Set.  Also used the Everyday Squares Set on a fold back card.

Completely changed the look of this even though it's the same die set as above, the Everyday Squares by turning it into a Wedding/Anniversary/Engagement card.

Used the Quilted Quarters for this card along with the Square Stitch Die and Emboss Set and the Everyday Squares Die Set.

I made this one into a Screen Card as it shows off the details in the dies very well.  I used both the Everyday Squares and the Vineyard Squares.  I cut two of the screen panels into the card and added a backing and layered two on top of the panels.  I finished this one off with a greeting which gets hung over the scalloped top.

Don't forget to catch the Launch show with Jodie today at midday on Create and Craft.

Nuvo Gilding Flakes and Embossing Powders - A Selection of Cards

Good morning Crafty Friends !

I do apologise for the delay in sharing some of the cards I made with these amazing products but it took a tad longer than I thought to get myself back together after finally getting a new laptop.  Thankfully now I think I have a good deal of my software and files back so I am able to show you these which were made using the Tonic Studios Prom Princess Stamp Set, Gold Nuvo Embossing Powder, Nuvo Alcohol Pens, Sunkissed Copper Nuvo Gilding Flakes, Glitter Gold Nuvo Sheen Glitter and Copper Penny Nuvo Crystal Drops.  The dies I used were both the Plain and Scalloped Circle Layering Die Set, Tea Party Base Die and the New Clarice Upper and Lowercase Alphabet Sets.

You can really see the effect that the Gilding Flakes give you.

The Embossing detail is fabulous on the stamped image and I chose to only colour the skin tones on this sample.
I went for a different approach with this next card, again using the gilding flakes but this time as a base layer but adding a gilded wording.  I used the Nuvo Clear Embossing Powder, Prom Princess Stamp Set, Bright Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops and Nuvo Radiant Gold Gilding Flakes.  The Dies used were Deco Oval Trellis Die Set, Amelia Embossing Folder and the Expressions Sentiment Die Set.

After embossing the image using clear embossing powder onto white card and colouring using one of the Inkylicious duster brushes and Antique Linen Distress Inks and just touching the very edge with Vintage Photo, you need to give the image a little wipe with a tissue or some kitchen roll to remove any ink from the actual embossed lines just to show the Emboss Resist Technique.

Another close up of the lovely effect you get with Nuvo Gilding Flakes.
I hope you can catch some of the shows with Jodie throughout the week for more inspiration from the Tonic Studios Design Team.

I'm Back!!

Hello everyone,

I have to apologise for the lack of blog posts over the last month or so but I have been without a computer.  I bought a laptop a few months back and upgraded to windows 10 which started off so many problems for me that my laptop had to go back to the manufacturer for repair.  After a whole month of stress I managed to get a refund and have bought another yipppeeeeee!! so normal service will be resumed shortly :)

I have so many lovely cards to share with you so as soon as I can get all my data put onto my hard drive I will be putting them on here for you to see.
