Harrop Layering Dies and Miniature Moments

Good morning, just a quick post from me this morning before I start for the day.  Today sees the launch of some amazing new dies from Tonic Studios and I've chosen to share a card I've made using the Harrop Layering Die Set.  These dies allow you to create your own scalloped card blanks in whatever size you choose. I've chosen to make a square card as they are so simple with the notch that's been cut into the die to enable you to line up easily.

I cut my base card with the Harrop die, then using the same size die I cut a square layer the same size to lay on top so I could get the scallops on all edges, even the folded one, added a few layers including another cut with the Harrop set and decorated with the Celebrate Miniature Moment die which I shadowed before sticking down.  I glittered the small champagne glasses from the Ladies Night sentiment and added some ribbons before finishing with Crystal Drops.

Look out for these fabulous dies this morning and throughout the weekend on Create and Craft.

Thanks

Tonic Studios Kensington Handbag

Hi again, haven't got around to blogging in ages but I've been very busy 'behind the scenes' although nothing to show you just yet so thought I'd share some more Handbags I made using the Kensington Handbag Die.  These are so quick and easy to make and ideal for a small gift, some homemade sweeties or a gift card.

For the quilted look I cut the panels out of self adhesive faux leather and scored them using my Hougie Board.
The 'studs' are just Bright Gold Crystal Drops.  I also cut the handles out of the same faux leather, sticking two together for each handle.  Finished off with one of the sentiments from the Idyllics sets.
This was very simple showing that they can be made very quickly.  I cut the main bag out of patterned card and added a large New Baby sentiment.  The flower was made by die cutting the small heart 8 times, swapping the centres over and sticking them together overlapping as you go.
This was one of my favourites, I cut myself a stencil using the patterned panel and layer and cut out of thick Kraft card, I then used this as a stencil to stencil Black Soot Distress Ink through.  I inked the edge of the panel and layered on to the bag, finishing with lots of bling :)

I hope they give you some inspiration when you come to use your dies.

CHA Fairy Reflections Collection from Tonic Studios

Hello again, I'm back with another card I made for the World Launch of the Fairy Reflections Collection on Create and Craft at the CHA in California.

I cut the sentiment topper using one of the dies from the It's The Little Things Flip Flop Die Set and layered it onto the Flip Flop card I cut using the same die set.  I layered the sides with card and paper panels for strength and added a ribbon.  I attached some Branwen Briar die cuts and layered the little butterfly on top for dimension.
On the other side of the Flip Flop centre panel  Die cut the Aurora Die from the Reflections range, cut a verso edge in white and filled the dress, the basket and wings with Nuvo Glitter and Crystal Drops.  The face and hair I die cut in white, coloured with the Nuvo pens and placed back into the image.

A nice simple card, quick and easy to make.

CHA Tonic Studios Reflections Collection

Hello, today I'd like to share with you a desk calendar I made using the new Reflections Die, Stamp and Pre-printed Topper range from Tonic Studios.

Here I've used one of the wording toppers which I die cut using the Mounted Rose Memento Frame Die Set, Bella Fairy Reflection Die Set which I coloured with Nuvo Pens and Glittered with Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitters, I also stamped the Just A Note To Say sentiment from the Decorative Mini Everyday Stamp Set to go on top of the post it note cover.

There is so much you can do with this range as it covers so many crafting bases so theres something for everyone.  If you're in a bit of a rush use one of the toppers, if you fancy something a bit more in depth try the die cuts and if you're looking to fill a bit of time and really have some fun, get your Nuvo Alcohol Pens out and colour one of the stamped images :) the choice is yours.

Don't forget to Join Jodie and Jo over the weekend for the World Launch of this beautiful collection.

Happy New Year! Tonic Studios Kensington Handbag Die

Well, it's all as far away as ever, I've had a fabulous break with the family but it's back to business.  If you were lucky enough to manage to get the wonderful new Tonic Studios Kensington Handbag die set then lucky you as it sold out within the first few hours of being aired on Create and Craft on New Year's Day.  Once made up, it's a lovely sizable bag and I've made a few to give you some ideas for when yours pop through your letterbox.

Unfortunately I was in a bit of a rush to deliver these down to Tonic HQ and forgot to photograph them.... oops but I did take a couple of snapshots while I was making them on my messy desk!

My first try with the die set and I think my favourite of all.  I cut all bag pieces out of black apart from the top clasp which I cut in gold mirror card.  I used the insert panel die to emboss rather than cut, with my Tangerine I am lucky enough to have two sets of mats so I used the two green mats with one green rubber mat and this combination embosses the die beautifully without cutting the pattern.  I rubbed a little Nuvo Gold Gilding Blush over this to emphasise the pattern and cut a gold layer for behind it before sticking my bag together.

These are one of the most simple things to put together but you can really go to town when you decorate them, I've used glitter and diamantes, self adhesive faux leather and patterned card.  I'll pop a few more photos on over the coming days.

Happy New Year Crafting :)
