Spring Floral Tivoli Unit

What a busy couple of weeks it's been, Forever Moments to decorate, extra cards to make...

Here's one of my Forever Moments Units, I decorated this Tivoli Unit in floral papers in light spring shades, I've had the paper pack for some years, I think it may have been made by Papermania.  For the larger panels, I used some sheets out of a 12" x 12" pad I got from The Works.

I painted the carcass in Ivory along with the drawers  and cut the fronts out of the patterned paper.  The die cuts are from the Butterflies and Blooms collection and I added a looped bow from grosgrain ribbon and some paper clay flowers.

I hope you like it,

Lyon Wedding Themed Forever Moments Unit

Hello, to go alongside the Tonic Studios Forever Memories One Time Only Deals on Create and Craft at the moment, we, on the design team, have been decorating the lovely MDF units again.  Here's my take on the Lyon.  I themed this unit to be a wedding gift by covering with rose printed paper and adding some flourishes and flowers.  On the drawer fronts are the paper clay flowers.  You can also find the moulds and the clay on the shows.

Hope you like it

Deco Geometric Damask Cameo Frames

Good morning,  where has our lovely weather gone :(  seems like we can get so much more done when the weather is nice.  After a busy weekend again,  I looked over my blog this morning only to find that a lot of my photo's have 'disappeared' yet again without me even deleting or moving anything from my computer.  That's another job for the list so if you need them they will be restored probably this evening.  Anyway, here's another card I made with the most recent dies released by Tonic Studios.  I made my own 8" x 8" cream card blank and layered with some monochrome damask paper and some pages from my beloved Pride and Prejudice book that I tore up for an earlier card (see post here http://craftydivacards.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/pride-and-prejudice-and-entwining.html )  I covered the join with the Simplicity Victorian Border Punch and softly inked the edges of these pieces with my ink duster brush and an antique linen distress ink pad.

I cut the Deco Geometric shape in three sizes in cream, black and cream again.  The largest I stuck straight to the prepared card front and the other two I stuck together before using a smaller die to cut out the centre, I again inked this lightly as before to match.  It was possible to go through the two layers as they were both fairly thin.  I cut the Rococo Charlotte Cameo in black and added this to the cream base, placing foam pads on the back of the die cut cream and black frame and layering this centrally on top.

The Just For You was cut from the Pansy Topper Die Set and layered onto one of the smaller Deco shapes before being inked and stuck to the card with 3d foam pads.

The card was finished with a large black hand tied bow and some Ebony Black Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like it,

Sentiment Strip Dies - Golden Love

Another quick share for today as I'm waiting for the glue to dry on another project... lol

This was a card blank that I made to size for the dies I was using.  I scored an A4 sheet of single sided matt gold card lengthways along the half A5 line giving me a long folded card which I trimmed down to 8" in length.  I die cut the detail die out of the 'Love' set into the card front and stuck a sheet of vellum inside.  I die cut the outer edge and the detail die in a piece of cream card and stuck this in place on the top, lining the pieces up perfectly.  I inlaid the L, O, V and E from the gold pieces I had kept from cutting into the card blank along with the heart.  I added Buttermilk Nuvo Crystal Drops to the corners.

I glued another piece of matching matt gold the same 8" in length inside so that you don't see the back of the card exposed as it's only single sided, I cut one of the strips from the Twine Buckle Strip Die Set in cream and glued this to the edge, I added a couple of hearts and a bow to this with some Nuvo Metallic Bright Gold Crystal Drops.

For You - Teal Deco Geometric Layering Dies

Good Morning, a chilly one here in sunny South Wales due to the the eclipse, I took some photo's with my phone and it was projected to the side, really kind of cool :)

A simple A5 card blank today in white with a vibrant teal layer embossed with the Martha Embossing Folder.  I cut three frames, one larger than the other two with the new Deco Geometric Layering Dies, the larger central one being stuck with 3d foam pads, the other two stuck flat and a bow using the Large Dainty Bow Die Set the tails of which were threaded under and over the frames and finished off with a small daisy die cut from the Entwining Trellis Dainty Daisy Die Set.  The sentiment was one of the small ones from the Idyllics die set.  I aslo used some of the white Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like it

New Sentiment Strip Dies Hugs And Kisses

Here's one of the cards I made for the launch of the new Tonic Studios Sentiment Strip dies on Create and Craft.  For this card I have used the Hugs verso die set alongside the Pretoria Alphabet set.

I made my card blank from scratch by scoring and cutting two sheets of lilac pearlescent card to give me an offset gatefold.

I cut my layers for both sides of my card front from grey, lemon and the matching lilac pearlescent lining them up flush top and bottom but leaving a very small border showing either side.

For my main decorative panel, I die cut the outer edge die from the 'hugs' set in lemon and grey and cut the pattern die into the grey layer, gluing both of these together before mounting into 3d foam and sticking to the prepared card front.  For the lilac coloured detail in the flowers and hearts, I used the lilac Nuvo Crystal Drops and spread them gently into the small area using the tip.  I also added some to the flower centres.

For the small panel, I cut '& KISSES' from the Pretoria Alphabet die set in both lemon and grey, using the centres of the lemon die cuts and trimming the outer decorative swirls off the grey set so I just get the outline.  These were glued into place.

The card was quite simply finished off with some lilac Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like it,

Collectables - Art Nouveau Framed Bow

Hello followers and fellow crafters.  For today's Tonic Studios Design Team card I'd like to share a monochromatic Art Nouveau style card made with the Collectables.

I started off by making an 8" x 8" white card blank and layering with black.  I cut a smaller layer in white then once I had decided upon a size for my frame, I cut another black layer for underneath that.  To construct the central framed element I cut mu frame out of white using the layering dies, the black patterned backing was cut using the inner pattern die from the long border strip which I cut three times, I lined this up inside my frame and glued it down, trimming off any excess before mounting it on a square of silver mirror card.  This was then mounted onto the prepared card front.

I used one of the large corners to embellish the top of the card and die cut the 'someone special' wording in black, white and silver, layering them slightly offset.  The Rococo Beautiful Bow die was cut three times and layered by only gluing the very centre of the bow flat together and mounting it on 3d foam before adding a large clear gem.

The card was finished off with some white Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like it,

Collectables - Art Deco - Pretty Purple Patchwork

I made this card blank using purple pearlescent card.  I cut one sheet of card down to 10" x 8" and scored this at 2", this gave me my card back and my small side panel.  The next sheet I cut down to 7" x 8" and scored this one at 1" which I wrapped around my card back and secured in place with double sided tape giving me the larger front panel.

I layered the larger panel with white and another of the pearlescent purple, sticking them in place.  I cut the diamond shaped patchwork die four times in the shape of a large diamond and two of the large corners all out of a lighter lilac coloured pearlescent card.  These were also stuck to the larger panel.  The small border was layered and added to the centre of the diamond and some of the flowers from the Delicate Daisy Entwined Trellis die set were cut, shaped and layered together before being glued in place.  The debossed sentiment is from the Idyllics die set.

The smaller panel was decorated with the large border die cut in the lighter lilac shade.

The card was finished with some Nuvo crystal drops and a lovely hand tied bow.

I hope you like it,

Collectables Hot Pink Art Nouveau

Another nice simple card using the Art Nouveau Collectables die set.  An 8" x 8" plain edged card blank layered with black and hot pink.  Three patchwork squares layered with white and black and the long strip cut in black and white with the pattern die cut into the black layer.  All these elements glued together, layered onto the card front as shown with one of the debossed sentiments out of the Idyllics added to a hand tied hot pink bow and finished with some black pearls.

Collectables Art Deco - For You Gatefold

Good morning, what a lovely start to the day, the sun is shining, finally :)

For today's card I made a small gate fold card, just under 6" x 6", out of a sheet of black A4 card.  I cut the deco header die into the very edge using the outer edge first, followed by the pattern die, matching them up so they are level.

I decorated the centre of the card with some matt gold card, some soft pink floral patterned paper and a print from the Joanna Sheen Fashion Boutique CD which was layered onto matching matt gold before being stuck in place.  Two of the small Art Deco corners were cut in black and added to opposite corners.

The front had the small border die cut out twice from matt gold card and stuck either side along the folds.  The card was finished off with a gold and a black square, cut from the layering dies and stuck together before being stuck onto the front of the card as a closure.  The 'for you' was cut from the Pillow Box Die set and glued in place in top to finish off the card.

I hope you like it,

Collectables - Art Nouveau Love Patchwork

Hello, I love the simplicity and softness of this card.  I enjoyed incorporating some pretty dotty and floral papers which I bought in a 6" x 6" pad from The Works.

I made a square card blank from a sheet of white A4 card which I then embossed with the Rosalyn Embossing Folder.  I cut the Art Nouveau Patchwork die four times into the floral paper which I then trimmed down.  I cut a white square slightly larger and then a layer of dotty paper slightly larger again., these were all glued together and then mounted onto the card front.  The central oval was cut from the With Love Essentials set and the Love wording was cut from the Just Because Sentiments, these were inked lightly with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink before being glued together and stuck to the card front on 3D foam pads.   The Roselily flower layers were cut from the Entwining Trellis set, this was inked before being layered and glued onto the bottom corner with a soft lacy hand tied bow being stuck to the opposite top corner.

The card was finished with a few white pearls.

I hope you like it,

Collectables Art Deco Bright Blue Thank You

Good morning, another early start to another very busy day here so I thought I had better update my blog before heading out for the day or it will be another day that I won't have the time to switch on again!!

For this Art Deco card I used a shop bought 8" x 8" scalloped edge card blank which I scored at 1 1/2" on both the front and the back.  I added a ribbon in a beautiful shade of royal blue with a pearly ribbon slider, I then added some double sided tape to the inside from the fold to the score line and stuck this portion of the card together.  This gives me my top border.

For the main card section, I cut a layer of bright blue gloss finish card and topped this with a layer of white, leaving a small border showing.  I cut my patchwork die four times onto a square of card, turning my die by 90 degrees for every cut so they are all facing a different way, I used my square layering dies to cut this out perfectly only leaving the smallest of borders, I cut the same size out in white to layer underneath then cut the next sized square in the blue to layer under that.  I glued the patchwork to the white and mounted this on 3d foam before layering onto my blue square and onto the card front.

I cut a frame using the smaller layering squares and cut one of the Keepsake Foiled Message Panels to fit inside, layered these on 3d foam and stuck to the centre of my patchwork.

Finally I cut the small border die in blue and glued it to the side.

I hope you like it

Collectables - Celtic Dream Forever Card

I used an A5 kraft card blank for this card with a layer of cream, red and finally kraft card again on top.  I used the long verso inner pattern strip die and cut it four times to fill the top card layer evenly and glued it in place.

The ovals were cut from the With Love Essentials Die Set and the Forever sentiment was cut from Inspirations Sentiment die set and the little heart was cut from the Someone Special Essentials die set, I cut it from red card and thread a small amount of heart ribbon.

I finished this card off with some Buttermilk Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like it,

Collectables - Celtic Dream Medallion Card

For this simple card made using the Celtic Dream Collectables Die Set I cut a DL cream card blank and layered with some dark brown followed by a light pink which I embossed with the Martha Embossing Folder.

I cut the outer edge of the longer verso border strip in both cream and brown and cut the pattern into the brown layer.  These were glued together and glued onto the card front.

The Patchwork square was cut out of pink card twice and brown card once, these were all mounted onto cream card with one of the pink layers being backed with a brown square and being stuck in place on the centre strip with 3d foam.  The brown patchwork square was cut down and layered onto the pink, again onto 3d foam and finally the last pink patchwork square was cut down to the very centre cross which again was stuck in place with 3d foam.

The With Love greeting was cut in cream and brown and drop shadowed before being glued to the base of the card.  The card was finished with a small grosgrain bow in a light pink and some pearls which had been coloured with a dark brown marker pen.

I hope you like it

Collectables - Art Deco With Joanna Sheen Print

For this Art Deco card I used a 7" x 7" card blank.  I used the header die out of the Collectables Art Deco set and lined the notches on the shape die centrally on the fold line of the card blank, once that was cut, I lined up the pattern die and cut that.

I printed an image from the Joanna Sheen Fashion Boutique CD and die cut some of the larger Art Deco corners to add to it, just overlapping the print with the centre square of the corner.  I measured what size I needed to cut my pink layer and then cut a gold layer slightly larger, these were all glued into position.

I cut two of the smaller border strip which I glued to each side of the centre print.

I finished the card off with some Bright Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops.

I hope you like it,

Karen x

Collectables - Art Nouveau Someone Special

For this card I used a little cream shop bought scalloped edge card and I cut layer of burgundy card and a matching layer of cream card.  I marked the centre of the cream layer and using my ribbon for placement, I lined up the patterned die out of my header die set from the Art Nouveau Collectables set before placing the outer edge die which I like to cut first.  I repeat this to cut the other side then cut end embossed the pattern die into both sides.  This patterned piece of card was glued centrally onto the burgundy layer and the ribbon was added before the layer was stuck onto the card front.  I cut the small oval from the Loopy Lace Ovals die set from matching burgundy card then die cut the someone special sentiment from the Art Nouveau set from cream card and glued these together.  This was stuck onto the card front with 3d foam.  This card was finished with a big hand tied bow and some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Buttermilk.

I hope you like it,
